Aug 20, 2019 · I have a NVIDIA Corporation GP107 [GeForce GTX 1050] card and ubuntu 19.04 installed (18.10 gave the same issue). I tried many proposed solutions, including the one above. Nothing worked. I finally found a solution for this Nvidia driver issue (on ubuntu 18 and 19).
To do this we simply use the Docker image nvidia/cuda as a base and install any necessary dependencies. nvidia/cuda is set up such that it can run seamlessly on any device using the nvidia-docker plugin, saving us the headache of matching drivers between the Docker image, GBDX worker nodes, and our GPU instance.

I'm running 10.04 . I was having issues with the nvidia driver, and in the process of adding/removing packages, I seem to have lost the binary "nvidia-xconfig".
